At Talleres Love My Car we are off-road specialists, and this is evident in the vehicles that are in our facilities, and on our TikTok channel we review what we can currently find, and we start with a Jeep WK with a 3.0-liter Mercedes engine with 350,000 kilometers, which we are performing complete maintenance, a Mitsubishi Montero 2.8 from 1999, with 115,000 kilometers and in spectacular condition, another Jeep, in this case with a Fiat engine and from 2012, and a Toyota Land Cruiser prepared for off-roading, reliable in almost all aspects except for the lower suspension ball joints.

If you're an off-road enthusiast and like to push your 4WD to the limit, we recommend installing a snorkel or elevated air intake. This accessory, in addition to providing an adventurous look, plays a key role in protecting the engine and improving performance in extreme conditions.
A snorkel is a pipe installed on the side of the vehicle and connects to the engine intake, raising the air intake to a higher position, usually at roof level. This allows us to wade through watery areas without risking engine damage. When crossing rivers, deep puddles, or mud, an engine with a low air intake runs the risk of sucking in water, which can cause significant damage. A snorkel prevents this situation by elevating the air intake.
In addition, the snorkel provides cleaner, cooler air: On dusty terrain, the higher position allows the snorkel to collect air that's less laden with dust and dirt, improving filtration and engine performance.
So don't forget that if you regularly practice off-roading, like to explore difficult terrain with fords, or participate in demanding routes, a snorkel becomes a very useful investment to protect your engine and increase your vehicle's reliability.
At Talleres Love My Car, we advise you on the installation of off-road accessories like a snorkel, tailored to your vehicle and your actual operating needs. We help you prepare your 4x4 so you can safely enjoy every adventure.

When we head off-road with our off-road vehicle, having the right equipment isn't just a matter of comfort, but also of safety. Among all the tools and implements that can make the difference in a complicated situation, the Hi-Lift jack remains one of the off-road driver's greatest allies, especially if we venture out alone and without a support or rescue vehicle.

At Talleres Love My Car, we know that no two outings are the same. The terrain can change at any moment, and what seemed like a peaceful route can turn into a real challenge. That's where the Hi-Lift comes in. Although at first glance it may seem like a heavy or even somewhat clumsy tool, the truth is that its robust design and purely mechanical operation make it a very versatile resource, ideal for situations where other equipment falls short.

One of its main advantages is its ability to lift the vehicle quickly and efficiently, essential when a tire is punctured or when work needs to be done on the underbody after hitting a rock or getting stuck on a step. But its usefulness doesn't end there. Thanks to its metal structure and ratchet system, the Hi-Lift can also be used to free a vehicle, whether by lifting a wheel buried in mud or sand to place a plank, a rock, or even branches underneath to regain traction.

In addition, there are times when we need to tighten a sling or rope to assist a colleague in a rescue, or to secure a load, and the Hi-Lift can act as a rudimentary but effective tensioner, which is very useful when a winch or cable winch is unavailable.

However, it's not all advantages: like any tool, the Hi-Lift jack requires knowledge and caution. You must know where to position it, how to operate it, and be very aware that it requires a stable base to work safely. Not all vehicles are designed for its use; therefore, if you're thinking of adding it to your equipment, make sure you have adequate support points, such as reinforced bumpers or running boards. It's also a good idea to bring a wide base for use on soft ground, where it tends to sink.

Ultimately, if you tend to ride demanding routes or like to explore beyond the main trails, the Hi-Lift is one of those tools that can get you out of a tight spot. It takes up relatively little space when installed with an external mount, requires no maintenance beyond occasional cleaning and a little grease, and above all, it gives you the resources to act when the terrain gets tough and there's no one around to help you.
