After seeing on the news the devastation the floods had done in the area of San Martin del Tesorillo, our Response Team got together and made their way through muddy mountain tracks in the storm to reach the town of Secadero, that was completely closed by the main roads.
The Club provided some provisions for the needed families in the area.
The team had to rescue a firetruck from the mud, pulling with two vehicles!
Second day to Secadero;
Our volunteers visited the Racket Centre in Soto Grande to coordinate with them to use our vehicles to deliver furniture to families in need after the aftermath.
Then they drove to el Secadero were they found a military control who was only letting pass vehicles authorized, they let them through and met with our friend Paco.
One of our volunteers was invited to attend the mayor's meeting to set out the plans, Karl went and updated us with the plans, priority was to evacuate the people with homes near to the river, as they were expecting another big flood on the day.
After the meeting our volunteers went to deliver diesel to the generating station which they could not access with their vehicles, they did not have the proper mud tiers to do the job.
Our volunteers managed to get up the steep muddy hill and provide electric power back to the town.
The volunteers were put later on standby while authorities evacuated the people.
Thanks to all the authorities for their support and hospitality.
Another group of volunteers sets off on Sunday to collect supplies from the Racket Centre in Soto Grande which was delivered to the town Hall in Tesorillo.
Later the volunteers met with Paco and went to help clearing the damaged furniture from a house.
We are dedicated to Leisure & Sports and collaborating locally & abroad in charitable works & Solidarity Projects on our annual Raids.
