Morocco has enough kms of dirt roads and sand dunes to do all the stages, that way they would sure have more participants and more of us can follow the rally.

Could not agree with you more its the ideal destination being secure, large in expansion and conveniently placed for visitors to enjoy.

The Spanish newspaper Marca reveals the plan for the 2027 Dakar Rally in Morocco, which will take place from January 22, 2027. According to the newspaper, the organizing committee for the Dakar Rally has finalized the proposed venue for the 44th edition of the Dakar Rally in Morocco, after informing the participating teams of the route and the number of stages. The teams will start on January 8 with a preparatory stage, followed by 12 competitive stages that will take place on January 16, after which it will conclude on January 22, thus returning to the African continent. The route will be a total distance of 4,300 kilometers without a traditional marathon stage, but with the adoption of the "refugee" stage, which will not allow the mechanical assistance for the participants to spend the night in a camp in the middle of the desert without any facilities for rest. The new plan represents a bold move compared to the initial proposal by ASO, which included a short version of the rally lasting eight days of intense competition. The report stated that the rally in Morocco could represent an additional incentive for the Spanish driver Fernando Alonso and the Marca team, who had been preparing for the past week to participate in the next edition of the race, which they had tested in Morocco using a modified Dacia Sand Rover with the Estomar brand. The newspaper expects the official announcement of the plan to be made next week, given the tight schedule available to confirm the participants' registration and begin preparations for logistics, which are still at a level higher than usual in this stage of the year, despite the teams being informed of the proposed plan.
